On friday, we had the privilege to attend the US2020 Game and IT expo at the triangle research park center, While we were there, we were able to learn quite a bit about games, the game industry, the different software and hardware available, and background info on different IT companies. There were a couple of people that stood out to me in this expo, such as Red Storm and Total cinema 360. Total Cinema 360 had an interactive display with an oculus device. There, I was able to observe the advancement of virtual reality, a topic that interests me personally. At the Red Storm booth, i was able to get some valuable information about career choices for the game industry and what is looked for when looking at a resume. One thing I could not really find much about was information on the local game industries. Redstorm talked a bit about local opportunities, but not as much as I had hoped. On the terms of informational technology, there was a both that talked about strapping monitoring devices to rescue animals in order to track their condition, which would allow them to be able to tell if the animal has found anything faster. This technology could be used in many situations like in fires or while searching for victims of a natural disaster. Overall, this experience was very educational and helped me better understand the game industry and the developing technology of this generation. I must also thank my Game design teacher for taking us on this fun and educational expo. Thank you Mr. B!
