With quarter 1 over, it was time to reflect. This quarter was mostly spent working on concepts and tweaking things according to how unity would handle them. I now know where I will need to go and what needs to be done in order to get my game done on time.
For Next quarter

Not much at all was done this week in the way of work on my game due to some personal issues and constant problems with unity loading on my main computer. The problem I have run into is that it wont open any scenes in unity at all. I am currently trying to figure out the problem and it seems to be a known issue for many different people. Once I can figure out how to fix it, I will continue to work on level layout. I have also switched to using Sculptris for making my 3D assets because of it's easy to use interface and flexible creation style.
For next week I will...
This week has been spent playing around with concepts on paper and in unity. I was messing around with 2D unity and 3D unity to see how it would change the assets I already have and I am set on using unity in 3D only. The 2D interface, although it is the same as 3D unity, does not match what I want to do for my game. I have decided that I do want to make my game so the player can move in 3D, but have it restricted.
Next week I have to
This past week has been spent mostly on asset creation and reworking my game concept. On the terms of how much time I have to make this game, I realize I may have to simplify the style in order to save more time for the construction and coding for the game. The game is planned to be structured like a side scroller, but in 3D. Originally, I wanted only the background and setting, such as the walls and floor, to be 3D while all the other assets, like the player and intractable items, to be 2D billboarding sprites. This may not be able to happen, however, because I am still not entirely sure that Unity can support animated GIFs as billboarded objects. I will have to do further research on the subject.
For next week I plan to...
